Guided by nostalgia and steered by our palates, we produce fair trade coffee that tastes (and smells) like home. But it’s our desire to make a difference that we consider the driving force behind the Homeland Coffee brand. By ensuring sustainable, earth-friendly practices are used to grow, cultivate and roast our coffee beans, we do our part to protect, respect and conserve our shared planet’s natural resources.

Both immigrants hailing from Africa, Mohamed and David found themselves disappointed in the quality of mass produced coffees sold in the states. Despite having tasted countless blends and brands, there was still something missing. The coffees they tried lacked the freshness, the richness and the earthiness of the well-balanced natural coffees they remembered from home, a realization that left them longing for the authentic taste of African coffee.
This is when they began devising a plan to import coffee that would capture the essence of their homeland - its fertile soils, its sun-drenched landscapes and the age-old traditions that reminded them of home. Their vision was not only to bring the highest quality coffee to the American market but also to support the communities back home, fostering economic growth and strengthening the bonds between continents.
From day one, Mohamed and David knew that sustainability, environmental stewardship and social responsibility were going to be imperative to their new venture. Knowing this, they began establishing their first direct relationships with small-scale coffee farmers in Uganda.
In due course, this pivotal milestone laid the groundwork for our company’s commitment to ethical sourcing, climate conservation and fair compensation for the people behind the beans.
We took a big leap by partnering with Joe's Garage - a local roastery we trust to hold the same high standards we do. By outsourcing the roasting process to a reputable roaster, we are able to dedicate our efforts and resources to streamlining other steps of the supply chain.
We’re stepping up our operations and expanding distribution, making our ethical coffee selections available across borders. Our goal is to have Homeland Coffee sipped and savored in countries throughout the world!
We’ve been hard at work exploring ways modern technologies could be used to minimize our environmental impact without disrupting the artisanal coffee experience our customers love. To keep things fresh, we create product lines congruent with our commitment to sustainability.

The flavor is deep and intense, with notes of dark chocolate and a hint of nuttiness, but it finishes remarkably smooth without any harsh acidity.
The fact that it's handcrafted and supports farmers directly makes each cup feel even more rewarding. You can truly taste the quality and care that goes into it. The aroma is absolutely divine, it fills the entire kitchen the moment you open the bag.
I used it in my French press, and it produced a rich, full bodied brew that was perfect both black and with a splash of cream. It’s become my new go to morning coffee. Highly recommend to any dark roast lover looking for a coffee with both superior flavor and a great story.
